Productivity is one of my favourite topics. Some of my friends joke that I spend more time thinking about productivity than actually being productive. Recently, I read Cal Newport’s post on Taming the Productivity Dragon1 and I thought about–what is my way of taming the productivity dragon? Recently, I came across a TED talk on storytelling1 and I forwarded the link to my friend. His response to that was in the form of a question, “Bala, why do you like stories?” This post is a reply to his question describing the reason I like stories. I won’t disappoint you, I do have a story in there…
From the moment the lockdown was announced in the country (as they did in many other countries), most of us have been working from home, doing balancing acts between work, home, grocery shopping and taking care of kids’ needs. Dr. Shankar gave me a call and proposed that we don’t take this one lying down, but taking it chin up. Hence, we worked on applying TRIZ on the situation of people like us, who are in similar situations.
